I've recently came into the information that the original 3DS XL has the worst hinge in the entire 3DS family, I thought it was fake at first, but then I went to check mine and quickly saw there's a small crack on it forming .I've had this for about 6 years I got off Facebook marketplace second hand and have taken pretty good care of it. Is it something I should worry about? I've been playing a lot more 3DS recently hopping between 3D Land and Link between worlds and want to play through the Layton games. Should I just continue to play and if it happens it happens? I kind of want to get a newer model but they're so expensive. I don't think there's any preventative things I can do. Its just been giving me anxiety since I saw a post of it mauled by daily use 😅 any recommendations on what to do, or am I just overreacting?

I have the same one, with the same crack just not that close to edge xd. idk i play it regularly hoping it wont expand. Also i got the clear hard shell for it just in case, maby that will help if it gets wors.
