Retailers all over are sold out with physical copies of RE9, some even cancelled preorders. Data shows that if you want a physical copy now you have to preorder months in advance. What surprises me is that there is heavy demand but Capcom still under manufactured RE9 discs. People are willing to pay that should hold some weight for major titles, I wonder if retailers have any muscle in this, they cant just order and get more copies to make more money. Physical buyers are less and less but they still exist, its crazy how the market has shifted and just doesnt give you a choice to go digital.

Two weeks before the release, my friend and I went to our local gamestop to preorder, I did it for ps5 and he tried to do it for xbox series x but the clerk just said no, they couldn't even let the guy preorder for xbox, weve gotten to that point. I thought we had the money so we had the power…

    1. This is by artificial scarcity by design. They count on FOMO driving more people to purchase the digital edition which gives them more control over how it makes them more money.

Agreed, huge oversight by Capcom, and a complete mistake. They’re garnering some definite bad will by doing that. I was lucky to get the only extra copy other than pre-ordered copies at my local shop, but that was pure chance.

I have pre ordered the physical deluxe like in the beginning of the January, it’s still not arrived. Like wow, just imagine what will happen when GTA VI drop…

It’s pretty sus.  I can’t remember physical copies ever being sold out for a new AAA game since like the ps2 maybe ps3 days.   And as successful as re9 has been, it shouldn’t be enough to clear out all physical copies.

I think Capcom did it on purpose to force ppl into digital but I won’t buy unless I can get a physical copy.
