Windowscentral: I polled over 14,000 Xbox gamers on exclusivity — only 12.4% said Xbox should have zero exclusive games

I’m going to say something that might be controversial.

There should only be timed exclusives.

    2. Not sure why MS is bothering with another console what’s the point of buying an xbox when I can buy a PS6 and have the best of both worlds?? The only reason I would buy one is if it’s cheaper then the PS6 but all signs point to it not being cheaper. I just dont see it happening they have done so much damage they would have to lose a lot of money to try to rebuild back their brand and not sure highers above them are willing to do that anymore.

No one buys a product out of brand loyalty only. People buy products for exclusive features. People buy an iphone because of it’s exclusive features that is how companies build brand loyalty.

    3. 100% have one release on PS then the sequel on Xbox only bring people into the ecosystem system

    4. I dislike exclusives but from a business point of view it makes sense. It entices people to your platform. Microsoft shouldn’t be shocked the gaming community has thought of Xbox as an afterthought. Why get one if you get their games somewhere else?

I really wonder if they are going to change course with their next system. Really gonna be interesting to watch.

    5. Activision/Blizzard should remain multiplatform.

After that, everything else should remain exclusive if it’s first party. This creates competition in the market and pushes all the brands to deliver. If everything is available everywhere, nobody is pushing anyone to drive the sale or advancement of their platform.

As you can see Xbox has basically given up this generation while Sony has just been coasting. There’s been little innovation from the series s/x and PS5 outside of using ssds and better resolution.

I think once the generation ends we should release all exclusives to other platforms, for example, halo 1 and 2 was on xbox/ps2 era, on x360/ps3 era halo 1and 2 should go on ps3, and x360 could’ve gotten GOW 1 and 2 so on and so fourth

    7. Exclusive to what exactly? Making a game exclusive to Helix, while the whole concept of that device will be unifying console with PC would be paradoxical. So what would exclusivity mean for Xbox exactly? Not being on PS5 and Switch? If these games are relatively cheap to make, plus new IPs (not releasing ES6 on PS5 for example would be idiotic), then I could see that, otherwise it would make no sense. Plus, they dug their own graves brand-wise with porting the Halo remake to the PS5.

Elder Scrolls 6 needs to be Xbox exclusive for at least two years. Yeah…TWO YEARS!

So why did everyone lie about exclusives being ‘antiquated’ and ‘bad for the industry’ and against them in general the last year or so?

Its not doing yourself any favors pretending you are happy with how Xbox was doing things if you truly didnt agree because Xbox might believe you are truly happy.

      First party exclusives are fine.

These are the games that are designed to move consoles.

Third party exclusives are not good for gaming.

    11. Game exclusivity is good for competition and providing tangible value propositions for consumers. As someone who has bounced back and forth between PC, Xbox, and Playstatiom throughout the years I get tired of people saying exlusives are anti-consumer. I think they are good for the industry and built up these brands.
