I found a few parallelisms across all the "updates"

Original Switch/Prototype Omnitrix/Reboot Omnitrix: generally serving the role as the "foundation", where every other version is build over. The general trend is "versatility" for a clear goal. In Switch's case, it borrows a bit from every system Nintendo made before (even the presentation said so) and the case of both Omnitrix, it borrows DNA across the milky way galaxy and even to many corners of the universe. But being a foundation means this had to walk so future versions could run…yeah, we came a long way, as the originals lacked stuff they added later.

Switch Lite/Ultimatrix/Omni-Enhanced Omnitrix: oh boy…look, they're not bad because they're different but…the trend here is "going against the vision", where the main purpose of the foundation, in this version is, at best, an afterthought. Switch's main appeal is in the name, the ability to "switch" between your TV to the handheld seemlessly, buy that, and other functionalities were sacrificed in Lite and in return we got a more conventional handheld, meaning the only thing it borrows from the original Switch is the libary, and even then, because of the lack of functionalities, some games are not compatible (at least not without buying the necessary accessories for them). I think the omnitrix variants showcase the point a bit more though, because…geez…one of the goals behind the Omnitrix was intergalactic peace…but the Ultimatrix was created with combat as the main focus (the ultimate forms were insults to nature) and the Omni-Enhanced, because it was born out of a glitch, had the unfortunate side effect of summoning a whole army out of the Omnitrix. Where's peace in that?

Switch OLED/Recalibrated Omnitrix/Restored Omnitrix: finally…we went from versions arguably worse than the original…to rather "direct" upgrades. The main appeal of the Switch OLED is the better display, but besides that, we also got stuff a better adjustable stand and enhanced audio, to the point some would argue this is how the original Switch should've been to begin with, but it took the original Switch for Nintendo to realize that so the OLED delivered on that front. Similar stuff happens to both Omnitrix, as both are literally upgrades of their respective previous versions, adding stuff that arguably should've always been there, but Ben had to be the testing subject for Azmuth to realize what was missing from the prototype into the recalibrated version…or in the case of the Restored Omnitrix, the Omnitrix got a hard reset to get rid of the Omni-Enhanced stuff that caused problems, but in return, we got the Reboot Omnitrix but better. As an additional fact, Switch OLED and both Omnitrix here share a common trait. They were meant to be a step between the foundation and the definitive version. Switch OLED and Restored Omnitrix succeded doing that. Recalibrated Omnitrix couldn't do that because it was broken at the start of Season 3 of Alien Force and blew up at the end of said season, prompting Ben to take the Ultimatrix as a replacement…until the definitive Omnitrix was finally completed.

Switch 2/Complete Omnitrix/Unlocked Omnitrix: this is the original vision of the foundation fully realized. Switch 2 has stuff Switch 1 was supposed to have (like magnetic Joy-Cons) but it took some time for all of that to become a reality, making Switch 2 the best Switch variant when it comes to selling the vision behind it, and on top of that, it's more versatile thanks to the power behind it, even upgrading old Switch 1 games via updates, editions or the recent handheld boost toggle. The completed Omnitrix has a similar story, as Azmuth started working on it after Ben got the prototype when he was 10, and the end result is arguably the best Omnitrix in terms of versatility. The Unlocked Omnitrix is the Restored Omnitrix with the Omnitrix Key inside it, making it change appearance, but also, like Switch 2 which updates Switch 1 games, the Restored Omnitrix updates the aliens with Omni-Kix armors to enhance their abilities, as well as Omni-Naut armors to allow them to survive in space in addition to that, and unlike the Ultimate Forms of the Ultimatrix, the armors were made with purposes that aren't just related to combat.

Anyways, what do you think about my yapping?
