    DMCA violation?



    I found a number of items on the marketplace whose developer clearly doesn't have permission to publish them.

    As far as I understand, using anime gifs as the skin for an item in your Steam inventory is considered a copyright infringement.

      How do you know they don’t have a permission?

      If you know who’s the owner you can contact them and ask. Only they can file a DMCA claim.
