Difficulty spikes (mobs feel easy, bosses to hard in the wrong ways)
Jank. Especially when you hit the later boss fights becomes more apparent.
Narrative issues, whether you care about that or not, are there.

Reminder IGN also gave 6/10 to Where Winds Meet

Will be interesting to see if they take and apply community feedback. I haven’t played yet, but my copy got delivered today. I have no personal hands on experience yet.
Having said that, I don’t think anyone is too surprised about this game reviewing like a fever dream master of none.

I mean it looked like a 6

6 is wild from IGN too. I’ll still check some videos when it drops, but damn! It was either this or marathon for me this month and I’m def leaning marathon now!

Now that the game is officially mediocre can we stop making 7 posts a day about it?

Not to hate on the game or anything but the amount of hype for this from people compared to what I was actually seeing them show off was so confusing.

Could’ve seen this one a mile away. They were trying to do too much in a single game. It had all the hallmarks of a game you would call “EuroJank”
I do give them credit on one thing though, everything ive seen about the world itself looks amazing. I think i could have tons of fun just traveling from one side of the map to the next, and visiting all the towns and landmarks. That is the one thing I think they nailed.

I called that it would get a low score and copped so much shit. Now look 🤣🤣 this is what happens when you try to add too much in one go. Sometimes less is more.

Change the title to Zelda: Crimson Desert and it gets like a 90+ on metacritic.

So it’s the usual asian/mmo coded game which thinks quantity is more important than quality.
This sadly seems to be falling like Dragons dogma

It’s an single A game that tries to look like an AAA game.
There is often a risk when an inexperienced studio gets too ambitious and expects too much from its game: Instead of focusing on a few gameplay elements and making sure they make sense and are fun, it tries to create a mix of countless genres, and in the end, nothing really works.

The negative reviews and positive ones both tend to praise the world, exploration and combat but list story, writing, and quest design as negatives so it ultimately seems to depend on which holds more weight for you.

And this is why I always keep my expectations low with all game releases. Didn’t get too invested with the hype so I don’t feel too bad if I wait until it’s on sale.

I’m patient, so looking forward to this once a lot of the rough edges and nonsense has been patched. I have attempted (unsuccessfully )to play bdo a couple of times, so my expectations were in the ‘crazier dragons dogma’ zone rather than the ‘adult zelda’ hype.

“it’s like a buffet, there are a lot of options but none of the options are particularly great”

Cheque didn’t clear, damn
6/10 for those who are looking for the score.
Oof.. I mean there are those who will love it which is great!
Cemented a skip this one from me personally
Not surprised
Sounds about right to me.
I do not agree with IGN as much as the next guy but if you look around every review is saying the same things.
Convoluted design choices (controls, puzzles, systems)
Difficulty spikes (mobs feel easy, bosses to hard in the wrong ways)
