Just beat this game for the first time on Hard a few minutes ago. 11 hours felt like an eternity lol. It definitely was challenging but manageable. I got to the final boss with 9 bandages and 5 medkits. I also used the Wolf, Plum, and Blessed Hand Mirror omamori's to get me through it. It does feel like a baby souls-like. Some of the times, the smaller enemies were more frustrating than the bosses. I got used to the combat pretty quickly and took advantage of the focus attacks. The story was interesting to say the least. I have yet to experience the alternate endings but so far it does a great job painting Hinako's struggles and Japan's religious, familial, and cultural nuances. How marriage is more transactional than genuine. How Hinako doesn't want to end up like her mother and sister. The sacrifices she goes through. That's one thing I truly love about the SH franchise: how deep it goes in terms of guilt, frustration, anger, pain, etc.
Overall I give the game an 8.5/10. Just wanted to share my accomplishment and opinion ♡
