I use to but I got annoyed by it. I noticed sometimes when you select a game in the library then click on let’s say the Store or Workshop links then come back to the Library it’ll will have selected it under the Favorites mean while you were looking it as part of some other category. This is normal because Steam will always pick which ever category is at the top of the list. However Favorites is always at the top.
So I have dynamic list for anything that’s installed which I call !Playing. Then I have a normal list called .Completed for the games I’ve finished with and that I would have normally put into Favorites. If it’s a game I also have all of the achievements for then it also goes into .Perfect Games. The ! and . help keep them at the top.
I thought about numbering them, like one example in the image, but this is more subtle and what I prefer.

For me it’s backlog, completed, playing, priority but I can definitely see having the top right as a system too.

I just install the games I like to play right now and use the according button to filter.
