I have 0 clue how this happened. I've had such crazy bad luck with my favorite console to date. my first Black 3ds was stolen by family, my replacement red 3ds cracked and then was stolen at school, and now this.
If you was more careful then all of this could have been prevented. You can always buy new replacement screens. Guides exist.

The most expensive part will be the top LCD and I suggest Amazon or eBay. The bottom screen is relatively cheap, so no, that’s not really a problem.The top screen I go from fifty to a hundred dollars.The bottom screen is like twenty thirty dollars

You can get replacement screens off AliExpress. Amazon too I believe, but more costly.
Just make sure you get the ones specific for the NEW 3DS xl, as others aren’t compatible.
The upper screen isn’t cheap; maybe $40-60. Not sure about the bottom.
Repairing isn’t easy – it’s one of the harder repairs out there for handhelds; but I’d you’re good at following instructions, take a look at
Replace with IPS screens for a slightly sharper image. Difficult to take apart and place back together, but there are dozens of videos doing so, you just have to be careful and take your time.
