Purchased this 2DS XL Pikachu edition in non-working condition

Described as blue light comes on then switches off. Small hairline crack on the hinge.
Points to many potential issues.. but I can't wait to have a crack at fixing this one. Could be an absolute hell of a purchase or a flop.
