So a few years ago my little sibling ended up dropping my 3ds and broke the bottom screen.. I’ve been able to still somewhat play but it just annoys me not being able to see any of the bottom ui and it’s hard to play without one.
I was thinking of getting a replacement screen and doing the repair work by myself but I feel like it’s too risky for me as I don’t really have experience and I don’t want to break it more than it already has. Do you guys have any recommendations on where I should go to for repair in Toronto? Im trying to look for any prices below 50 but if I have to I could raise that budget more.
TLDR: The bottom screen of the 3ds is broken and I don’t know any place where I can fix it in Toronto?

I’d replace it myself. It’s about 10 bucks off aliexpress for the screen and digitizer and the ribbon cables route only to the board on the bottom, so it’s simpler than the top screen. What have you got to lose? It’s already unusable pretty much.
Just use YouTube videos of others doing replacements and follow steps exactly. I was able to replace the top screen on an o3ds this way which is a harder repair (I don’t recommend top screen replacement to my worst enemies)
Maybe some retro games stores in TO would know good repair places? I know it’s not a real store recommendation but I think this could be a solid place to start! I’m sending u all the good vibes
You’ll need to the bottom LCD screen. I presume the touch screen digitizer is working fine.
Also, if you do replace the LCD screen, INSULATE THE BACK. The replacement LCD screen is likely going to be clean and have a metal back, you need to line the back with something. Could be the foam from the old LCD screen or something like kapton tape. Just INSULATE THE BACK.
I didn’t do that and the metal back shorted something out in my motherboard and fried the power management chip. DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE.
