Found it at the local flea market for €10.
It was absolutely disgusting, but i cleaned it up to the best of my ability.
Broken hinge and no power, no charging light.
I took out the motherboard to check for any corrosion and cleaned it with IPA, still dead.
The motherboard looks slightly dent near the broken hinge.
Any ideas what else could be broken?
I have read that the 3DS XL will not power/charge if it has a broken battery, might try to swap it with a good one and see what that does…

Nice deal ! Even if it doesn’t work, at least you’ll have spare part if you ever get your hand on another one that needs repairs 😁
Check the fuses.
Even with a bad battery, the motherboard should still flicker to life for a few seconds before rejecting the attempt to charge the system.
No lights makes me think the charger port might be dirty or a fuse might be blown.
