i got an old 3ds that has a broken port and battery, and in the amount it would take to buy those from online shops i could probably just buy a second hand one.

what i want to know is can i solder some usb male port to the motherboard to make it work on a powerbank?

the image is purely for showing what i mean, i am not using that to power it

    1. The console requires a battery in the battery slot to run, whether or not it is plugged in so basically no.

    2. You cannot buy a 3DS for the price of a replacement charging port and battery.

Unless you can 100% guarantee that the power bank is putting out the same exact output as the 3DS battery / cable, this is a stupid idea. You will fry your board to death.

Unless you are experienced in board repair, you’re better off selling it for parts and buying a new one.

You need to feed 3.7v directly to the battery pins. The charging port is only for….charging.
