So I recently modded my (old) 3ds xl and was having a blast, the battery was healthy but kept discharging and I decided to mod it with a usb c charging port.
I ordered and waited its delivery, charged the console almost fully then took it aprt and desoldered the original port (ripped out pin 5 but it's a duplicate fortunately).
Soldered the new port except for pins 5 and 6, at this point it was charging and working properly, unfortunately I later ripped it's sockets while putting it back together.
Put everything aside disassembled, ordered a new port, waited its arrival.
I've desoldered and cleaned away the remaining tin (no I haven't tested if it was still working properly) put the port down with some hot glue soldered pins as in photo put it back together then tried charging it but unsuccessfully started it up and the screen remained black nothing even under a strong light audio and touchscreen work.
I tried redoing my soldering work and trying charing it, I noticed some smoke coming from the red region, or maybe it was just pin 3, I really hope I didn't mess up anything maybe it was just some soldering paste or my poor soldering job.
I noticed a strange behaviour for the first time: when placing the battery back the charging led turns on for a few seconds.
I need help please, my childhood is on that 3ds and I have no money to spare for a new one, if you think I should post it somewhere else tell me.
