Hey all, I can't decide if I should get this 3ds xl it's nice, but it has a scratch on the bottom screen. should I keep looking or just accept the scratch?
Its not a pleasing scratch to look at, but then again, most important content is on the top screen so it won’t be too annoying. If i were you i’d get it if its fairly priced and just slap on a screen protector

Honestly if it’s a good price a digitizer (aftermarket of course) is only $12 USD on eBay. If you have the right screw drivers you could do your own repair. Any repairs for the bottom screens are the easiest repairs (imo) to do for the 3dsxl line.

To offer maybe some unconventional opinion, having a prestine console is not only overrated but even kinda (extremely slightly but still) annoying. I have the absolute luck of having a double ips n3ds xl with both screens completely unscratched. This is very dope but it makes me overly protective of my console. For a thing you’re supposed to be able to carry with you, having to care about it so much because you don’t want to break anything is kinda annoying. I’m not saying I’d prefer having a beat up system, but having one means that you’re not going to worry about scratching it any further.

If you’re playing a touch screen intensive/ stylus heavy game I’d get a screen cover for sure. Probably disappears for the most part when the screens lit up but if it’s bumpy that would annoying for touch screen stuff
