    The Wii U was the only console that had a soul…



    I’m sorry but no console has that "soul" that the Wii U had, even apart from this little birthday music, whether it’s its warm interface or the console itself, it’s a set of things that make the Wii U (for me) the best console… I really find that now the consoles are all a little cold and the same, we’ve lost a bit of this Nintendo spirit.

      I do love the Wii U, but disagree with this sentiment. I’d say the Wii also has a “soul”, in terms of feelings and vibes as well.

      My personal two favorite consoles are the Wii and Wii U. I use them for different things, though. Generally use my Wii for Gamecube games, and then my Wii U for obviously Wii U games and also Wii games.

      3DS and Wii U were peak Nintendo soul. The Switch has always felt incredibly stale to me in comparison. Booting up the Wii U is always a joy.
