Crimson Desert is pretty good if you don’t have a bitch in your ear who hasn’t played telling you it’s bad.

It’s a heavily flawed game that is immensely fun. And the way devs are listening to players is pretty amazing. I will say, despite enjoying it a lot, if you can wait like a year, I think you’ll enjoy the game much more.

This game to me feels like a fantasy-themed Just Cause 2. Story is not good but the gameplay is so fun and there’s a ton of things to do and places to explore.

So? He also recommended Borderlands 4.Why are we listening to him

I agree, having a blast. I also don’t think the game takes 20 hours to get good, I was having fun pretty early on. Like he said in the review , it’s like playing Skyrim for the first time. When a game is this vast and complex it’s going to have some friction getting into everything, but it pays off.

I will get this later down the line after it’s been patched to hell and back. If a game takes 10+ hours to become “fun” then that’s a big issue for me.

So someone who makes a living by reviewing games, likes a game and people are supposed to care? Reviewers like Skill Up have no more insight into how good games are than anyone else. Their opinions carry the same weight as anyone else, but they make videos about it.

Finally someone called out the bs line everyone keeps repeating: “all of these gameplay features copied and pasted from other games and stuffed into CD with no thought into them and they only exist just to exist”. That right there is proof anyone who says it is just parroting what others have said online who also haven’t played the game. “Inch deep and a mile wide” is another one that’s completely false and a narrative from people who haven’t played it because a couple streamers who sucked at the game said it early on.

Why do all these posts feel like they’re pushing this game so hard?

Can any current players tell me – are the side quests fun? The nearest comparison I can hope to compare it to is AC Valhalla, where I found the main storynfair dull but the side quests (especially the multi stage ones) well written and immersive
Does CD have similar side quests or is the story in all aspects fairly rubbish?

Well if Skill Up likes it, historically that means I’m unlikely to.
