While stable, it was clunky and a poorly designed after thought for the original. Then they made it worse with the plastic clips. Then removed them altogether.
Absolutely not the best feature of the PS5.

It was a neat piece of design but it felt a little bit over designed for what it actually did.

“Coolest feature”? Seriously?

I’d honestly much prefer a design that doesn’t require a stand.

Fairly sure PSSR outranks this by miles.

Actually the worst feature of the PS5. Go back to collecting tolls from under bridges.

It was helpful, yeah. But I didn’t like how in horizontal mode, it would sometimes slide out of position. A rubber band helped to keep my launch model locked til I upgraded to a Pro last week. Honestly I prefer the plastic feet with it.

Idk I have an OG PS5 I think it’s dumb. I do like the you can store the screw in the stand though.

I’m not a fan personally. I keep my horizontal and it never seems to sit right on that stand. I would have prefered the little kickstand they they added with the slim (mine is a launch edition fat boi).

It was terrible. It doesn’t even attach to the system. If you need to move it a little for cleaning, it just slides off of it. New design is far superior.

I hate this for having it horizontal, 3d printed some feet and it’s much sturdier

It wasn’t the coolest feature, but it was actually nice that it was included and not an extra we had to pay for

I have a disc drive, and it creates some great stability without the drive. I agree though. Sony should’ve included the drive with the consoles like at first. Especially the pro.

It was terrible on PS5 in horizontal position. The slightest movement and it flipped off. One of the best changes with the Pro
Narrow_Middle_2394 on
The purpose it serves is to aid the shortcomings of design over function, if Sony designed the console to stand horizontally on its own the stand would be useless. I Genuinely want to know going on in your mind.
Least_Stand_2707 on
Its just a stand. The real downgrade was the fact the stand was included with the original model then they made it a separate purchase with the slim.

I had the original PS5 with that stand, and it’s the worst stand ever.
It’s janky and there are better third party ones that I was using until I upgraded to the pro.

I honestly hated that stand in horizontal mode. Since there wasn’t a screw it slid off whenever I slightly moved the console. I’m glad the pro has a much firmer solution for horizontal.

Why is this cool? I use PS5 but the design and aesthetics sucks ball. There are much better object designs that do not require this stand.

I prefer this horizontal stand over the one that came with it.

I like the new vertical stand better.
This was the worst feature of the Ps5.
The coolest feature is the dual sense controller by far. Can’t go back to a normal controller after, you just can’t.
