I just wanted to make a small comment and ask something. The first picture was taken on the day my 3DS arrived, and the second one I took a couple of weeks ago after all the modifications I made. Among them were the Famicom-style colored buttons. The thing is, these buttons are clearly Chinese-made and made of pretty cheap plastic. The texture feels rougher compared to the original buttons, which are smoother and more slippery. Honestly, I don’t dislike either of them—the rough feel doesn’t bother me, and neither does the slippery feel of the originals.
The issue is that I’m starting to doubt whether I should switch back to the original buttons. After two weeks of use, the letters on the aftermarket buttons are already fading, and I feel like that might not be a good sign. On one hand, I really love the aesthetic, but I know the original quality will always be better. I just wanted to know what people think about this and whether you agree that aesthetics aren’t more important than quality.

Keep the original buttons in a drawer somewhere. If the quality continues to bother you, switch them back. Otherwise, wear these down
