So, I have posted getting my New 2ds xl a few weeks ago its been a great addition to my handheld collection, I love the lighter weight so much. I decided to sell my new 3ds xl ahead of time and instead grab an OG 3ds for a secondary option to play on because I dont see the need for 2 XL models. I have to say I really love this model so far. It looks amazing for the time it came out, its older and clunky looking but there is a charm it has over anything else. The weight is also a huge plus its extremely portable and it reminds me alot of playing on my dsi. The screen also looks surprisingly great all these years later. Nothing looks washed out and games actually run well, the price was also so reasonable and a great option for a small budget. Now for some cons, while I find it comfortable it is really small for bigger hands this may not be a great choice, the battery is just okay, mine ran for about 4-5 hours if on the lowest brightness, the other models are clearly superior. I really hate the 3d slider on this, it gives so easily. The speakers are also kinda rough. Overall for the price its a great alternative, the design is sleek I absolutely love its y2k aesthetic. But there are some early kinks that the newer models don't suffer with. Still I dont regret my choice for now. Id really like to wait around to see if I can grab the fire emblem 3ds xl if I were to ever go back to that big boy lol.

This is why I like the original 3DS so much. It had so much charm and I love it.
Hopefully I’ll be getting my new 3DS xl soon and can retire my 3DS, I might keep some obscure games on it for nostalgia but that’s about it.
I have a blue old 3ds and am looking to upgrade to the new 3ds xl bc of the better 3d tracking and larger screens. After I bought an Dsi XL, I couldn’t go back to the 3ds size
I’ve been thinking about doing the same. I’ve owned every different model of 3ds/2ds at some point or another and the OG is still my favorite but I can’t justify paying as much as theyre asking for when I already have a New 2dsxl.
I tend to agree on the “XL is heavy” part. That’s one of the 2 reasons I’m primarily using a “New 3DS” instead of “New 3DS XL”. The other reason is that the XL just happens to feel too bulky. I always catch myself going back to the non-XL model.
I find the small NN3DS to be a happy medium.
I have both the New 3DS XL and OG 3DS. I prefer the OG because it fits better in my hands, especially when I play with the analog stick.
I have my New 3DS on display because it’s the limited edition Pokemon Sun/Moon
I love the style of the originals, but I could never give up super-stable 3D.
I have a DSlite and a 3DS XL, and I want to get an OG 3DS. Like, I like my 3DS XL but it’s too big to regularly carry and I don’t want to damage since I have a lot of memories with it. For now though, the DSlite is super portable and my go to to have in my pocket.
