my 3ds (reg) decided to break one of it's many flaps off 💔💔
It's the flap that holds down the d-pad to the motherboard
Is there any way to err replace this flap w/o replacing the whole motherboard?
It wouldn't latch, and when I put it in place, it would come off, and a part of it broke off trying to keep it there 💔
Any advice would be amazing, I don't really use the d-pad but this is my childhood 3ds and means a lot to me 🙁

Yes there is! You might be able to slot that flap back on if you’re careful but honestly, I have never had success with that even when I used a microscope. The easier way to fix it is to solder a new joystick port onto the motherboard
If you don’t know how, I could definitely help you out with that. I’m currently doing a job like that right now for a customer 😊
you probably realized your analog stick not working properly, try to put something spongey like thick foampad on top of the broken connector. To help the ribbon cable apply necessary pressure to make a connection with the gold prongs. thats how I fixed my 2ds with a broken clip.
Make sure its thick enough so the casing helps apply the pressure when screwed down
