As you can see I've viewed over a thousand games, nearly half of them I've ignored. I think out of all of them I've bought fewer than 10 games from my queue, and maybe ~20 I put on my wishlist and later decided not to buy.

Is it supposed to be mostly stuff you don't care about? I've been persistent in using the queue occasionally thinking that eventually it's gonna learn my preferences but if anything the suggestions have been getting worse over time.

    1. Wow can I know what games you play? You must have a taste that I’d enjoy playing

      It’s so cool

the queue doesn’t really show stuff based on what you play, or based on what you own, or have wishlisted, or tags related to these. it just shows you what you’ve not marked as ignored, or wishlisted before, prioritizing unseen things but sometimes it can get stuck and won’t move a thing until you’ve wishlisted or ignored it.

so yes. it’s useless. it’s also easy to break if you’ve gone through too much of the queue. I’ve marked 95k titles uninterested and if you’re genuinely out of things it’ll tell you, tho I got lazy, and haven’t seen that in a while.

Completely agree, constantly shows me shit I would have no interest in playing.
Then when I see my followed gaming YouTube channels pick up games I’d like and never heard of I always think “wtf steam?!”

a little bit of both, best use of queue is to check it after finishing a game you like, I found some gems through it like esoteric ebb after having played disco elysium. I’ve gone through the queue so many times that now i check it like once a week and it will suggest only new games that are related to games I’ve already played, if I don’t space out the queue with enough time though it really does just show slop

    5. Here is the thing I have realized. The discovery queue is for finding games that are unknown or out of your normal habits, but if you go to Store page and keep scrolling down, you get stuff that is related to your owned/wishlisted games.
