Crimson Desert is an upcoming open-world action-adventure game developed by Pearl Abyss, the studio best known for Black Desert Online. Unlike its predecessor, which focused heavily on massively multiplayer online gameplay, Crimson Desert is designed as a narrative-driven experience with a strong emphasis on single-player storytelling, while still incorporating expansive open-world elements. Set on the war-torn continent of Pywel, the game follows the journey of Kliff, a mercenary leader navigating political conflict, personal loss, and shifting alliances. Through this focus, the developers aim to deliver a more cinematic and emotionally grounded experience than traditional sandbox RPGs.
