Most people game on TVs but there are few still using Monitors for their PSs. Most monitors offer implementation of HDR that is not as bright and not as dim as good TVs. Here’s HDR400 (400Nits max) tested on my 27 inch BenQ monitor (EW277HDR):-

    [Astro](https://i.imgur.com/R6aVort.jpg)
Astro definitely looks better on HDR. And way to saturated if HDR is off.

[Infamous](https://i.imgur.com/9uy1Dts.jpg) Infamous looks great to me with HDR off. Because I had problem distinguishing the characters shirt with roads black colours. Although HDR does provide better blacks and better neon lights.[Another example ](https://i.imgur.com/SSLNMBY.jpg)

[Shadow of the Colossus ](https://i.imgur.com/Wnnoyy1.jpg) SOTC looked exactly the same with both modes. Maybe this is because the game design lacks colour and HDR isn’t very bright on monitor.

[Ratchet and Clank (2016)](https://i.imgur.com/zfELPQ0.jpg) Ratchet looks more saturated when HDR is off. This makes scenes look more catoony than devs have intended.

[TLOU2](https://i.imgur.com/FpshmrR.jpg) The last of US 2 Ellie looks like a proper redhead when HDR is off. [Another example.](https://i.imgur.com/YJfPNDI.jpg)

It’s sad that Monitors don’t cross 500 nits (350 nits in this case) while using HDR. And don’t feature proper dimming zones compared to proper TVs. Still, is nice feature to have. And Makes ‘good’ difference in Sony exclusive titles. Please note that this monitor only supports 8-bit colours but 93% dcip gamut while using HDR. As you need proper 10-bit colour screens to use full HDR colour gamut. Hope this helps people who use Monitors to game.
