Pretty specific use case, but if there was anyone looking into using a 1440p Monitor with your Nintendo Switch, this one I purchased seems to work pretty well with it.

Why 1440p? For me it’s because that’s the resolution I wanted for my gaming PC, but I also like playing my switch docked a lot at my desk. And if I want to bring my PS5 to my desk I can do that too. I couldn’t find too much out there on this resolution monitor with the Switch, so I decided to give it a shot.

The monitor I purchased was the MSI Optix MPG321QRF-QD. A lot of MSI monitors have what’s called “console mode” which they mention the Xbox Series and PS5 primarily for this feature, but they implemented it to properly downscale those systems to 1080p for when they didn’t support 1440p via the HDMI 2.0 input.

I got the monitor in yesterday and set it up, and first tested it out with my Switch. I played Tears of the Kingdom for a few hours on it yesterday and like I said so far it seems to work pretty well.

If this didn’t work out I was going to consider getting the mClassic, but I don’t think I’ll need it.

    Take care everyone!
