Yesterday I purchased a product on the Xbox.com store which was a digital bundle for 5 games. I paid in full. The pre-purchase confirmation showed the 5 games.
A few hours later, the product I purchased was removed from the store (link shows an error). The game was removed from my library.
But the most critical aspect is – Microsoft scrubbed a proof of purchase transaction receipt without my consent to alter the contents of a purchase I had made with them. This means they have removed my ability to prove that I paid for this and what I have received has been taken from me.
Is this a common practice for Microsoft? Is this even legal to alter a proof of purchase and payment receipt hours later without my consent to hide my ability to prove I own a title they have removed?
I checked in with other people that purchased this item and they also had their receipts altered by Microsoft on their Microsoft Accounts to remove any mention of the game being included in the purchase.
The product in question is called “Escape Room Mega Bundle” and the link was https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/Escape-Room-Mega-Bundle/9PNXLHX3SJPD
It contained 5 games, 1 of which has been removed from all transaction receipts hours after contractual purchase.

The image attached is my now-altered transaction receipt and proof of purchase that no longer shows a game included that was advertised as such and used to show before the alteration.
I understand I am able to request a refund, but I’m more concerned about the practice of Microsoft altering transaction receipts of customers without any notification or communication hours after payment and hours after the production of the receipt.
And to be clear, there has been no monetary compensation applied at the time of editing my receipt.
