Will these still wear the joysticks?

Hi all! I wanted to know if someone’s had a experience with these, I was told by a friend that even if you cover them with these they still wear because of the pressure you put on them and well as they rub against the stick too, however another one contradicts it. So what are y’all’s options with it? Thanks!
