Yesterday, I installed and updated a game I once played, Project Cars 2. I own it digitally due to the fact that I got it for free during the “free games with gold” era so I own it fully digitally.
But now it says I can’t play it? Anyone know a fix? I have gamepass but not the ultimate version which is what I’m guessing is the issue…

You’d need game pass core.
You claimed it with Gold, in order to still play it, you need Gold which is now Game Pass Core.
Just get ultimate
Do you have an active core(live) or ultimate subscription right now?
If I remember correctly you only actually own 360 and original Xbox titles, Xbox one titles were in your library indefinitely but only had access to them if you had an active subscription.
