I made a WiiU pro controller docking station by modifying PS3 docking station [DIY guide w/ pics]

Hey all! I’ve searched Reddit and the net for a WiiU pro controller docking station, only to learn that Nyko made some in very limited quantities and are very hard to find.

So I did a little DIY project with some scrap wood and paint I had. My build is fairly sloppy but it is good enough for me. I’m sure you can do much better. Lol

1. Buy this docking station

2. Cut the clear plastic ends off like in my picture. I used a Dremel tool.

3. Cut some wood or 3D print something to mount the docking station too, so that the docking station will sit horizontally at a slight angle, with the docking station secured to your two side pieces (e.g pieces of wood).

Also note that the docking station must be secured in such a way between the two pieces, that it does not make contact with the ‘floor”. This is because you need to have a gap so you can provide a gap for the power cord to power the docking station, since the power port is now on the bottom of the docking station (because it is now mounted in a horizontal position).

In other words, the docking station will not make contact with any surface. The only thing providing contact to the surface is the two side pieces.

1. Secure your two side pieces of wood or 3D printed plastic with glue or epoxy.

2. Enjoy!
