I see so many bad reviews for this, but as someone who LOVED the first 2 games, even aimlessly swimming around looking at fish sounds like a damn good time to me!

for OP or anyone else that knows, I didn’t play the previous games when they came out. Would it be fair to compare EOL to Pokemon Snap? (sans rails, of course). or is it even chiller? Like, does your oxygen run out and you need to restart your adventure, etc? Bc this game is sounding really cool to me if it’s kinda what I just described.

I’m actually having a blast with this game. I love fish, diving and the chill game experience is a nice break from what I usually play.

Anyone who bought this game and can say if it’s worth it? The reviews aren’t great but it looks like a good time killer.

enjoying thi sgame a lot. Play it different than a normal game since it feels more like a simulator tho. Do not trust the reviews

Despite the reviews the gameplay sounds pretty interesting to me still.. if there’s any spooky deep sea/lovecraftian stuff I might have to get it

I’m excited to play this later today. I loved the first two games, but have been a little hesitant due to the reviews. Especially the reviews from folks who loved the first games and felt this was a letdown. Hoping I still find enjoyment in it.

i played it about 2 hours today. diving drops you in a big blank map and you fill it in by swimming around. there was no shortage of fish to scan and i found myself saying “i’ll find just one more species…” more than once. also, i spent 1.5 hours on one dive and only uncovered 25% of the map. so this seems like it will be a great game for chilling before bed or while watching TV. i didn’t try the multiplayer yet.

The reviews put me off but was intrigued enough to purchase. I’m 5 hours in and really enjoying it! Multiplayer works really well and I like spotting new fish for my fishie-dex. I fear that once I’ve identified em all the game will lose a bit of its appeal to me.

Did anyone else’s physical copy come with a Nintendo Switch Online free trial?
It’s only 7 days and I’m already an active subscriber so it doesn’t do much for me, but I don’t even recall them mentioning physical copies would come with one. Small surprise I guess
