The idea of a cute, colorful, Souls like game was very exciting to me. I was watching a couple of gameplay videos before buying and it was on sale, so I bought it.
Wow! I am very disappointed! I didn't expect an indie game to look THIS rough on Switch. I do own a PS5 and Xbox Series S, but this game felt like it would've been nice to have on a handheld.
Not only does the Switch port look bad but it runs badly too! Just before I took the first screenshot, the game lagged while I was breaking the glass bottles. If your port is going to look rough then AT LEAST make it run well.
The gameplay is still fun but I feel scammed. I could buy it on my PS5 but I find it insulting to buy the same game TWICE just because the Switch port is bad.

[I wasn’t expecting much based on the announcement trailer.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAqV2XtVCUc) The gameplay footage from that trailer looked raggedy.
The devs said they would try to bring it up to parity with the other consoles in the future. Hopefully they stand by their word and actually do it.

Wow, I tired it off Gamepass and wondered how they got it to run on the Switch. That’s terrible.
Sucks that the switch port is messy, as I’ve been enjoying the game on PS5. Hopefully they improve performance to make the experience smoother on switch
I understand there’s disappointment in how it runs and that it can certainly be better but I’ve still had fun with it. Playing docked improves some performance but I do wish I bought it on another platform. I’ve still been having fun with it.
You’ve probably already installed the latest patch but if not SwitchUp on YouTube said the new patch improves things (a bit).
I had to choose between Switch and SteamDeck. Glad I went with the Deck.
No. Soulslike play better on PC or in a good console.
I do have to say, the game also lagged at that same spot on my PC with a 2060. I think it’s partly because that’s a loading spot for the larger world just past it. Not to say that the Switch doesn’t run poorly, because I’ve read that it does, but I don’t think it’s strictly the Switch in all cases.
Yikes, that’s rough. It honestly doesn’t even look that demanding as far as graphics and stuff goes on PS5 so it’s pretty crazy it took such a hit on Switch hardware.
It’s a decently fun game but I was definitely underwhelmed visually especially because it’s cartoony but I’m sure they have limited resources. I’d be even more underwhelmed playing it looking like that. Maybe they will be able to optimize it better in an update?
I bought the PS5 version and the game lags at this spot too. Very consistently too. There are specific spots where the game performance just tanks for a few seconds and then it runs smoothly again
I’m playing the game on ps5, that part where you break the bottles also slows down on here too.
It should be expected if you were looking at footage of other versions. The switch version is usually always 30 fps and way rougher in these large scale 2024 games
Switch just can’t handle these bigger 3D indie games. That’s why I got Penny’s Big Breakaway on ps5 instead of the Switch. I don’t know if I’ll ever pick up Another Crab’s Treasure or not, but I’ll probably avoid the Switch version for that as well.
edit: reddit is malfunctioning, sorry for the random one letter comments
I stopped buying Switch games last fall! At this point I’ve given up on the current Switch and no plans to continue until new hardware is released.

The switch is three generations behind atp who cares
Nintendo’s shit hardware can’t run basic games
I’m shocked
Those screenshots look like they’re from a good N64 game or a terrible PS2 game
I had some lagging issues playing on the Xbox, but once I moved it from the external storage to internal, it ran much better. Just something you might want to check on your Switch to see where its saved, and if that makes any difference to the gameplay.
OP. The lag isnt from those bottles. Its from the area youre entering loading. Its just the bottles are placed right where the area starts to load, so it seems like the bottles are causing the lag.
I had noticed the lag myself and realized what was going on after a few times of it happening in that spot
Put in a refund request with Nintendo, stating your issues you’ve raised here. If they refuse, complete a charge dispute on your credit card stating the product you were sold was far inferior to the advertised product.
At this point it’s a seven years old console…
Agreed
Damn this looks so bad. Glad I downloaded it on game pass
Glad I’m playing on Steam Deck.
Yeah, another case of a botched port just to catch up to other releases. A simple delay couldn’t hurt yet they want money fast. I would not support indie devs like these.
More like Another Disappointing Port
