Raven's blade has EVE written on the thing. I've been trying to figure out the reasons behind why would Raven be in possession of a weapon belonging to EVE.

"Notes on EVE Protocol 4" mentions our game takes place in the Seventh EVE Protocol, which is conveniently being tackled by the 7th Airborne Squad. Alluding to the fact that there's been six EVE Protocols before the one we're experiencing in the game.

This is where I start assuming stuff, but In the same notes there's the phrase "the seventh angel, EVE, has been sent for the seventh EVE protocol". The Curious choice of wording in that phrase has led me to believe each EVE Protocol had it's own EVE Angel. Which has also led me to believe that Raven, being a 2nd Airborne Squad member might have been the EVE of the 2nd EVE Protocol.

TL;DR: Raven might have been the EVE of her own EVE Protocol.

Yes, been waiting for a discussion on this.

EVE is always referred to in capitals, whereas Tachy and Raven are written as regular words. It’s even held like this in subtitles (which I had on the whole time).

Many of the NanoSuits display the EVE name, implying that NanoSuit technology displays the name of the person wearing it.

Whilst I agree I thought Raven must have been her unit’s “EVE” given the way the NanoSuits display the owner’s name, I wondered if the EVE on the sword hilt reflected Raven’s subjugation and defeat, because the sword name changed to EVE when she had her sword taken from her and used against her.

Adam: Of course. What’s the word? Oh yeah. Angel.

Digger: Angel. That’s the unofficial name for members of the EVE Airborne Squad

      EVE: … I’m… EVE
