Horrible interview, Sarah Bonds body language said everything for us. Sad to see someone like her make the salary of hundreds of these developers and all she can do is mutter some PR nonsense.

I just read the Eurogamer opinion piece on Xbox’s lack of direction and so much of it permeates throughout the way Sarah Bond articulates her answers in this interview. Xbox just wants to keep growing without taking a second to acknowledge or focus on the fact they have studios and manpower to nuture, futureproof and manage simultaneously. They do all these acquisitions because they want to grow their business but it’s because of that growth that they start chopping the bark of the tree bit by bit because they can’t or don’t even want to sustain the saturation of studios and profit margins they want to meet with those buyouts, so it always costs the guys actually working in the trenches on games almost cyclically.
I don’t know how far in advance this interview was conducted before the recent closures. Sounds like they were sitting on this for a bit before then because the lack of even a single question about Tango or Arkane is pretty concerning
