I’ve just been playing Ryse: Son of Rome and I don’t really understand why it’s generally been so poorly reviewed as it’s literally Gladiator: The Game. Yeah it’s short, basic enough combat (but executions are top notch). The fight scenes are so well designed and authentic and taking into account this is an 11 year old game it looks fantastic.

I still cannot believe how good the graphics were in this game. After 11 years, it still looks fantastic.
It’s one of my favorite games. I especially liked the arena. The criticism I mostly hear is It’s repetitive. I guess that doesn’t bother me as I like arcade style games, and those could be called repetitive.
