You can get can without pressing switch. Bring a crate from area just to the south over to ladder.
In NG+ the switch that activates the turrets/raises platform can become bugged and can’t be turned on. I read somewhere the switch deactivates if you first complete the puzzle just south of the area, where you have to destroy 5 red service drones since it diverts power. Not sure if that’s true. But either way this is a workaround so you don’t miss the can if you need it.
