Good catch. The words on the screen supports this. Austral can also denote Australia. I am curious what other locations correspond to in the real world. Eidos 9 looks like Tokyo with the roller coaster, ferris wheel, and the cacoon-like tower.

Orbital elevators, in theory, have to be built near the equator. These, uh… Aren’t.

Note that the Spires are also located jutting out of a body of water.

III – West Philippine Sea
IV – Coral Sea
These are just approximate locations! I just did a quick look on Google maps. 😅
