Same thing happened to me too! My game was very laggy in this area, and I assumed the game just didnt know what to do. Did you fight the boss of this area yet? I only lost mine after beating the boss. (Wording it like this in case you hadn’t yet)

Me too on the elevator after the drone was taken out by a boss. It was invisible till I got back to the planet.
