I saw that I could upgrade Ac Valhalla from the base game to the Complete edition for 20 bucks. But a little text states (Discount provided is not valid and will be refunded if qualifying has game is returned.) Am I gonna get screwed over if I buy this?

It just means it’ll be refunded if you return Valhalla itself. When did originally you get Valhalla? If it’s anything beyond like a week or two, you likely wouldn’t get a refund anyways, so it might not matter at all.
