A while back I posted my accomplishment of having finished a fresh NG Hard Mode run where I collected no Body Cores, no Beta and no Weapon Cores. However I'd chosen to take Adam's Hand at the end and so wound up beating Providence as the final boss of the playthrough. At the time I did that because I just hadn’t fought Providence in a bit and wanted to brush up my knowledge of his fight but my run always felt incomplete to me as a result.
Fortunately the Boss Challenge Mose allows you to use whatever Save Data you want to attempt the bosses so I could finally remedy that! It was so fun, honestly. Elder is just my favorite boss in the game which is honestly saying a lot because frankly all the bosses in this game are top-tier. Still, 180 perfect parries over the course of roughly 15 mins, lmao. Also I only used 3 potions too according to the stats which is nice. The next level would ofc be doing this without taking damage but personally I’m happy with this achievement for now. Maybe one day… when I have enough time to spend on my hands, lol.
I’m unsure how exactly this compares to a Minimum Preset clear though. Never tried it out tbh though from what I’ve seen that still gives you more health and attack power than a file with no cores like the one I used. Minimum Preset scales your base weapon accordingly, so kills can take as short as a few minutes.
I think HP is a bit boosted though, but it never feels like it because the only chips you have access to are Double Edges and you can only run the Skin Suit lol.
