My Xbox was very noisy, fan always at max speed.
I opened it for a good clean, the heatsink at the bottom was entirely covered by a thick layer of dust.
Now its silent like day 1.
Next time I will also repaste.

Do you people use your consoles on construction sites?
I have my console in a pretty dusty room with lots of books, I basically have to dust every other day to keep everything clean and my console has never looked like this.
