Well, TechRadar recommends Retrospekt and makes bold claims that Retrospekt makes 35 year old original Gameboys work like new and in excellent condition. I don't know if TechRadar is biased or not?

Why? Funny playing makes a kit you assemble yourself for like $80. And it’s brand new hardware. I’ve never heard of retrospekt and I’ve been into the retro can for a while.
I never heard of them and don’t know the full extent of their refurbish process, but I can tell you the prices look obscene.
For that price just buy a nice condition one on eBay, you could probably find one with a back/front lit screen too.
