Like is Xbox dead because im starting to lose my faith in the future of Microsoft.
I understand their stradegy of porting games to rival platforms and putting them on Gamepass which is to gain players what will purchase your product. If Microsoft ports their games to Playstation, then PS5 users will be buying Microsoft's games which helps Xbox boost their profits.
Gamepass also helps in the regard of bringing value to the table ($10 monthly subscription for 100+ games vs. $60-$70 a single game)
On the otherhand, I fear that if Microsoft ports too many franchises to Playstation (and Nintendo) then it would make purchasing an Xbox pointless because every Xbox exclusive is on a rival platform. I don't see Playstation porting their exclusives to Xbox. Right now the've only been ported to PC and thats it.
I don't want my Xbox Series X to become a pointless box. I want my Xbox to have SOME but not all exclusives that are only playable on Xbox/PC so that it would be justifiable to purchase an Xbox in the first place.
I'm scared that articles are talking about Microsoft considering making Halo multiplatform which I don't believe is likely but so far Phil hasn't been very clear and blunt on which games will stay exclusive for the future of Xbox: https://www.ign.com/articles/microsoft-reportedly-working-on-halo-combat-evolved-remaster-considering-playstation-5-release
