Outside of just collecting it for your account, what would be the reason to rush out and download it? Aren’t betas usually shut down after they end, making the download unplayable?

The story was too long. They had me running around doing stuff and not playing soccer. Glad it will be off the eshop

Saw it yesterday and sorta ignored it. I’ll pick it up later tonight

The football parts are an excellent blend of the DS’s strong RPG identity and the Wii version’s more FIFA-ish gameplay.
But the random battles have bafflingly been reduced to a dynamic set of Rock Paper Scissors not unlike a niche Japanese genre of such that existed on SNES (there were a couple of Dragon Ball and Yu Yu Hakusho games using this gameplay but as far as I know no example ever made it west), that are completely unrelated to the football RPG gameplay. And the story mode is tooooo chatty just like the old ones.
Oh, and don’t even bother with the story mode on the demo. It’s a lot of waffle and not a single game of football. Just play the regular versus mode demo (online or vs CPU) to get a feel for how the game plays.
