I’m playing this now lol. I imported the physical version, didn’t even know it wasn’t released in North America yet.

    3. Holy cheese, I was literally looking into this 2 days ago. But wait. Why is it $20? Wasn’t it like $10 on the Japanese eshop?

I bought the Asia version a year or so back. I might look into the digital if there is more content.

    5. Holy crap I was about to drop like $50 on an import this morning and decided against it. What are the odds.

    6. Man, why are all these mobile games coming over to console? First that Metal Slug game and now this.

No joke: if there was a 100 best games on the Switch, I’d put this somewhere in the top 50. I was obsessed with the 3DS version it was so good and this version is even better, because it adds more features, levels, ideas and units. You could easily dozens of hours playing it. I truly think it’s one of the best indie games ever made.

Essentially, it’s an extremely humorous tower defense game, but the developer has a great knack for making it balanced and demand a higher level of strategy the further you get into the game. On top of this, it completely avoids the strategy pitfall of having one dominant strategy work like a puzzle that “solves” the stage. It has so many different variables and tactics you can use and is balanced extremely well.

Its roots are a mobile game, so there is some repeating of levels you’ll have to do in order to build up your army for the strategies you want to employ on the harder levels, but like all the best strategy games like Fire Emblem or Disgaea, even leveling up is a lot of fun because of the absurd art, humor and setting. (Also, you can relax, any kind of monetization from the mobile game has been removed.)

This game is worth it just to read the incredibly funny text crawls that introduce the game and come at every fake ending before you finally get to the incredibly crazy final ending. It comes highly recommended for anyone like humorous games, tower defense or strategy games and is also a great game to play while grinding if you’re like me and you like something to do while you listen to YouTube videos or podcasts.
