I was making fun of people who had this issue by sarcastically claim they must some serious eating habits for their PH to become corrosive… and literally a week later, my N3DSXL, which I owned since launched and was in pristine condition, started developing this exact issue without me even touching it.
The reality is that the wrap that Nintendo used is absolute shite.
On the bright side, the plates are easily detachable and you can rewrap them in vinyl, you can get an official licensed one which must be rising in price like crazy, or you could just get a replica from AliExpress.
