if your plates are scuffed what I did here was , clean the plates with alcohol (I did not sand it for fear of damaging the design ), Restored any deep scratches with acrylic paint to match the design , used two coats of Mr. shine as a varnish and as you can see it really got rid of 90% of the scratches. My recommendation: use 2k clear spray instead of mr shine. don’t try covering the sticker or other things but the screws. the reason for not using mr shine is because it is soluble in alcohol and any try to clean /disinfect the plate after will remove the varnish. Feel free to leave questions over the method!. I will post further as I repair the pearl white section of the 3ds. I found a tamiya color paint that matches the 3ds pearl white very very close (900 ps-57 pearl white) . it comes in a can
