If you like what you put there it shouldn’t matter, but I would match it more, so I’d have either shoes or a car on both of the shelves. But that’s just my two cents 😁
That being said, if you have the opportunity to get a bigger desk, I would do it, because I just know that would be way too little space for me in the long run 😅

Definitely a bigger/broader desk, which will allow you to mount your monitor on an arm, clearing up some nice real estate on said desk. Add to that an ergonomic chair, and you should be nice and comfy!
