Had to get a new PS5 because my old one broke. I was really trying to get the OG PS5 but end up getting the slim version because I didn’t like how the slim looked but besides from that, I’ll say it’s a little bit better than the other PS5 more storage and detestable disc drive so I’ll give it a 7/10

But it’s least backwards comparable and upgrades a lot of your ps4 games to ps5 speed and resolution

If there is a pro or a much smaller 5 I might get one. My OG PS5 is going great.

I just knocked mine off the table and the hdmi quit working a week ago. Mind if I ask the problem that led to you getting a new one instead of a repair?

    4. I just paid $200 for an out of warranty from Sony.

Late 2020 PS5. It would just turn off playing games.

Took about a month for the whole process. It sat at their facility for two weeks. They’re either overworked or the things are failing to have such a backlog.

I was holding out for a Xmas Pro but want to play games to detach now. Can’t go the whole year without gaming.

    5. I got my launch PS5, still running. But it does NOT like rest mode. So it’s on in front of the AC 24/7 (Unless I go to my friend’s house)

I’ll take the old one, if you’re done with it. (Note: I said “take” not “buy”)

I got mine when the console launched. It’s still going strong and I mean it gets used, tons of hours online with rdr2/gtav/cod/apex/fortnite and I’ve only took it apart once for minor cleaning.

I like the look of the newer slim, but think I may hold out for the Pro model. But in saying that I did the same when ps4 pro came out and tbh the pro was not really worth it. Some developers made changes to their games…but as for the vast majority of games it was just like playing most of them on a regular ps4.

I will definitely scrutinise the Ps5 pro more this time and weigh up if it’s really worth it.

    8. Only issue I have had is the black controller I got has insane left stick drift so bad it just constantly acts like it’s being pressed.

Console has been great. What scares me is the random crashes that occur, when it’s in rest mode sometimes I wake up and turn it on any which way, controller, unit and tv controller. It will usually crash and act like I didn’t turn it off properly.

Has slowed down recently though thanks Sony

That edge controller is a great tool as long as you don’t set the trigger to lowest travel. It clicks after about a week or two of use. I’ve had 2 and happened to both. Had to dismantle it and glue the slider, was driving me nuts

    10. I don’t know what in the dyslexic fuck I just read but you said you got the slim because you didn’t want to get the slim?

I still got my launch ps5 but last year a managed to get a ps5 spider edition, looks really nice, instill have it brand new, incase my old one breaks.

The costs of all your controllers must be more than cost of a single console lol

    13. I had a digital only ps5 but sold it due to not having many games for it, but 1 year later, i helped my dad out with money massively, so as a thank you, he bought me the disk edition and i love it so much

    14. You were “really trying” to get a system that rates less than 7/10?

I consider PS5 to be the best console, with SNES being remarkable for its “Golden Era” of RPGs.

      Can you explain your scale?
