Mario Kart’s DLC Came Full Circle

So, did you know that for Mario Kart 8, they ended up adding a DLC that included Link? And this, of course, added his new mechanical horse, the Master Cycle. The Master Cycle is meant to look like a horse since Link is known for riding horses throughout the Zelda series. But did you know that in German, the Master Cycle is also known as the Eponator? Similar to his horse, Epona from Ocarina of Time. The Mario Kart DLC released in 2014. Later in 2017, Breath of the Wild would come to receive the Champions Ballad DLC, which included the Master Cycle Zero. The Master Cycle Zero was directly inspired by the original Master Cycle in Mario Kart 8, except this had an ancient look to resemble the guardians roaming around Hyrule. Then to close the full circle, the Mario Kart team would end up adding the Master Cycle Zero into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in 2018. This also came along with Link’s new champion tunic as well as the paraglider and ancient tires. So, in other words, a DLC inspired another DLC which in return inspired a third DLC which was based from the first DLC. Pretty cool, huh?

The DLC that inspired another dlc which inspired another dlc lmao
