6 Easter Eggs You May Have MISSED in Donkey Kong Bananza’s DLC
references you may have missed in the Donkey Kong Bonanza DK Island DLC, which honestly should have been a part of the base game, but whatever. Obviously, the shipwrecked Gangplank Gallion is impossible to miss off the shore. However, once you get aboard the ship and explore towards the upper deck, the red, white, and blue target that was at the end of every Donkey Kong Country 2 level can be seen. If you go to the area with DK’s treehouse, not only is a picture of Candy Kong with her DK64 design hung up, but below the surface is DK’s original banana horde with the same sign and everything. On the topic of signs, a more obscure one is the red arrow sign at the end of the minecart tracks. Those same signs would appear towards the final stretch of Donkey Kong Country 1 levels indicating the level was almost over. A set of bongo barrels can be spotted off the main island stores, which are likely a reference to the bongo controls used in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Donkey Konga. They even have bouncy properties once you clear off the sand. Maybe this next one is a reach, but I’m going to keep telling myself this fractton shaped like a banana is a nod to Zenanab from the Donkey Kong Jungle Climber game, which is hilarious if true. They really do care about our boy. They really do. If there’s any other I missed, let me know in the comments.
